May 9th - 10th
I was in the Oklahoma Panhandle applying Ramps to corn and cotton fields.
These ramps were put out in cooperation with the
Cimarron and Texas Co. NRCS offices and the Texas Co. OSU extension office.
I great many thank you's too
Keri Morris, Cherri Brown, Alan Messenger (all three with the NRCS) and Steve
Kraich the Texas Co. Ag. Ext. agent.

Most of the field are strip till and under irrigation. These
guys average around 230 to 260 bu / ac yield. Most of the field had just
been planted
or were just out of the ground. Much of the ground had winter wheat
that was grazed, after the cattle are pulled the wheat is chemically
killed then pre-plant fertilizer is strip tilled in and the planter then follows
the rows made by the strip tiller. I do not have pictures of all of the
producers
or the fields, but above will give you a fair idea of the country.
First Row: the 3rd and 4th pictures are of Able Debore, (Boise
City, Ok.). 2 irrigated corn fields
The 7th picture is of Mark Witt, a producer out of Hooker Ok.
2 irrigated corn fields, 1 dryland corn.
On one of Marks fields we have a ramp on a hill top and a ramp on a side slope.
The 8th picture includes Able Sullivan (middle) and Josh
Morris. Able has 1 ramp in irrigated corn.
Second Row:
The 3rd picture is of Steve and Russell, who's son Charles (Texhoma,
Ok.) had us put out 4 ramps in irrigated corn and
2 ramps in
irrigated cotton.
The 4th and 5th pictures are of B (Texhoma,
Ok.), 1 irrigated corn field.
