In the Spring of 2006, Daniel E. Edmonds served as Oklahoma State University's Division/College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Agricultural Legislative Intern. The internship is a joint venture between DASNR/CASNR, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, and the Agricultural Committees of both the Oklahoma House and Senate. The intern serves concurrently with the legislative session (First full week of February through the last Friday in May). For the 2006 session, Edmonds was under the direction of Senator Daisy Lawler, D-Comanche, and Representative Dale DeWitt, R-Braman, Chairs of the Agricultural & Rural Development Committee in the Senate and House, respectively.
Following the completion of intern duties at the State Capitol on May 26, 2006, Edmonds took a small reprieve before leaving for Washington, D.C. on June 1, 2006. Selected as the Frank D. Lucas Scholar, Edmonds was able to serve as a Congressional Intern in the office of Congressman Frank Lucas, R-OK. The congressional internship was a six-week internship in our nation's capitol.
